South Miami Heart Center’s Echocardiography Lab has earned re-accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL). This means that the cardiac technologists who perform echocardiograms (ultrasounds) in the Heart Center and the doctors who interpret those tests are working together to provide patients with the most accurate diagnosis. Echocardiographic testing is useful in the detection and management of many types of heart disease, according to the ICAEL, and has become the standard diagnostic tool in cardiology.
