Men's Heart Screening
A Screening Fit for a Man's Heart
While research indicates that men seek medical attention for heart-related illness more often than women, they usually wait until they experience chest pains or a cardiac event before taking action.
South Miami Heart Center offers men a heart screening to determine a man’s risk for heart disease. The screening includes:
- An individualized consultation with a cardiovascular nurse
- EKG
- Blood pressure and pulse check
- Blood test for cholesterol, HDL, triglycerides and glucose levels
- Heart-risk assessment
- Physician referral, if necessary
Prevention is Key
South Miami Heart Center’s cardiovascular specialists know that finding a potential problem before it becomes a real problem can mean the difference between life and death in many cases. Armed with the results of a heart screening, men and their doctors can team up to find the best way treat potential problems.
