Dedicated Diabetes Management & Self-Care

The healthcare professionals at South Miami Heart Center understand the challenges of living with diabetes. If you have diabetes, our full service Diabetes Care Center can assist you in keeping your ideal blood sugar level and disease under control through proper management. We provide free blood sugar screenings, external insulin pump therapy, self-care diabetes management education, nutritional counseling and ongoing support groups.

The Diabetes Management & Self-Care Team

Our diabetes management and  self-care center has a skilled, compassionate team of caregivers who are specially trained to work with diabetic patients. The Center’s physicians, nurses, nutritionists and counselors help patients handle issues associated with the disease, including problems with the eyes, kidneys and heart. We teach patients to manage their diabetes with self-care management, while leading active lives. Many members of our staff are also bilingual.
