Learning Opportunities for Physicians and Healthcare Professionals
Continuing Medical Education at South Miami Heart Center and The Wound Center
Education is an essential component of well-rounded cardiac and wound care programs. Therefore, South Miami Heart Center and The Wound Center at South Miami Hospital are devoted to providing Continuing Medical Education (CME) that focuses on both existing and new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities as well as disease prevention. The target audience includes physicians and clinicians in the local, regional and national medical communities.
An Educational Edge
South Miami Heart Center brings internationally-known experts to discuss developments in cardiovascular medicine, focusing on cardiovascular disease and prevention, cardiothoracic surgery, heart failure, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology and interventional radiology. The specialist and the primary care physician will be better able to recognize problems sooner and treat or refer patients earlier.
Similarly, The Wound Center’s annual symposium provides updates on research developments and information on clinical indications, applications, precautions and tips for optimizing wound care outcomes. Physicians who treat patients with chronic or non-healing wounds as well as those who refer patients for treatment, including primary care physicians, will be better able to implement strategies to improve patient care.
